🧬 Let's accelerate medical innovation
At Power, we're making clinical trials easy to navigate for all patients.
Today, patients look to promising medical research when standard treatments have failed them. Unfortunately, there is no single source of truth that patients can understand and trust. The status quo is a government run website which is written in complex medical jargon that is impossible for most people to navigate.
At the same time, clinical trials are the bottleneck on medical innovation—new medicine takes almost 10 years to test, costs >$2B to develop, and over 86% of all clinical trials are delayed because they can't find enough patients. This is one of the biggest problems facing the life science industry.
Power is the easiest way for patients to access promising new studies. We help more patients find treatments, and accelerate the discovery of novel medicine as we go.
🏹 The role
Power is reaching the point where our product really works. Given this, we’re looking for a high-agency generalist to help us stand up new business functions and identify new ways to grow.
If we were to zoom in, you’ll likely spend time:
- Going 0 to 1 on strategic projects. Could be launching a new product, revamping pricing, closing a major partner, or building a new ops team.
- Driving strategy across the P&L. You’ll identify the highest impact levers, be it in GTM, product, or operations and align the team around those opportunities. ****
- Building the finance function. You’ll own our operating and financial model, forecasting, reporting, and planning.
- Building our people and culture function: You’ll run our core people functions across development, recruiting, and training.
This role will be based in our SF office.
📊 Ideal Qualifications:
- We don’t believe in strict years of experience but our ideal candidate likely has a few years of experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- You’ve probably spent some time in an analytical professional service environment (banking, PE, consulting) and left for a mid stage startup (seed - series b) because you wanted to get stuff done
- As a result, you’re probably fluent in business analytics, financial modeling, and ROI analysis
- And you’ve also learned how to duct tape a v1 concept in order to validate an idea (webflow → typeform → zapier → airtable)
- A background in pharma R&D or clinical research is a plus but we believe this is learnable
