At Power, we're making clinical trials easy to navigate for all patients.
Today, patients look to promising medical research when standard treatments have failed them. Unfortunately, there is no single source of truth that patients can understand and trust. The status quo is a government run website which is written in complex medical jargon that is impossible for most people to navigate.
At the same time, clinical trials are the bottleneck on medical innovation—new medicine takes almost 10 years to test and over 86% of all clinical trials are delayed because they can't find enough patients. This is one of the biggest problems facing the life science industry.
Power is the easiest way for patients to access promising new studies. Thus helping more patients find treatments and speeding up the progress of medical research as we go.
We’re looking to bring on our first full-time product hire at Power, outside of our cofounders. Up until now we’ve had team members lean-in off the side of their desk to help drive decision making in the domains they’re closest to. We’re now at a point where we have enough surface area, and market pull, that we could use another dedicated product team member.
Right now, we’re primarily hoping to bring on someone to take lead on our clinic & researcher product. These users leverage Power to recruit for clinical trials they’re helping to facilitate, and are coming to us through a mix of product led growth & top-down partnerships with pharma. You’ll have the chance to get intimately familiar with the nurses and investigators at these facilities, and to shape the strategic priorities for this crucial half of our marketplace.
Up until now, we’ve been focused of having Power be the best possible patient channel for any one of their studies. Today, the process of bringing an out-of-practice patient in for screening can be slow and laborious, so we’ve worked hard to start automating what we can — from insurance validation to medical record collection & parsing. Our ambition here, which maybe you’ll decide is the wrong one, is to make it as easy to enroll a patient from outside one’s clinic as it is to enroll a patient that they’re already treating.
Over the coming months, we’ll also begin to shift our focus towards supporting these clinics across all of their studies. This next phase will require us to better support research team & trial expansion. All of which to say that in addition to core product work, this role will have opportunities to focus on product-led growth.
We don't believe in strict job requirements, but if these problems sound fun and familiar, you're probably well suited for this gig:
